Glitch Gear, an awesome gaming t-shirt company, is also on board with this year's Classic Game Fest events.

9:00pm   Round 2 Begins.  This round will be played outside on the BIG SCREEN!  The top 32 players will compete in front of the crowd.  You dont want to miss this PONG played on a movie screen it will be AWESOME!

9:00pm   Movies in the Museum.  As soon as round 1 is over, we will play the classic videogame movie Cloak and Dagger inside the store in the videogame museum (on a 32 plasma TV).  This will give you something to do between rounds, but dont lose track of whats going on outside or you may lose your place in the tournament!

12:00pm  End of Day 1.  See you July 17th for JOUST!!

Additional Details / Rules:

Hardware and software:  All rounds will be played on Atari Flashback 2 hardware using the Arcade Pong game.  This game does have some glitches in it, but it is the original Atari arcade version and thats why we are using it.  We apologize in advance for any of these glitches that may affect your game, however, due to the crowd size and time restraints of this event, we are unable to replay any rounds so all scores will stand.  This is friendly competition, not the Super Bowl!

Round length = 5 in 5 to Stay Alive:  Due to time constraints, all round will be won by the first person to 5 points, or it will be won by the highest score after 5 minutes of play.

Prizes:  The prizes for the PONG Tournament are:

1st place:  $100 Game Over gift card & Atari Flashback 2 system              w/paddles!

2nd place:   $50 Game Over gift card & Atari PONG keychain.

3rd & 4th place:  $25 Game Over gift cards for each person.

Other rules:  Please always be courteous to all contestants.  Cheering is appropriate and desired by all contestants.  No trash-talking, bullying, or other signs of disrespect to anyone, or you will be disqualified.

These events are intended to be FREE and FUN for the whole family, so please bring your lawn chairs, food, and non-alcoholic drinks, and HAVE FUN!  We want everyone to have a great time, so please dont take them too seriously!

Cameras and other video recording devices are allowed, so as long as you dont disturb the players, feel free to film and create your own videos or albums of these events.  If you make something REALLY cool, please email us at gameovervideogames@msn.com, and we may add YOUR video to our YouTube channel!

6-1-2009 Classic Game Fest 2009 - The Overall Schedule

For this year's event, here is our basic plan for each evening.  each night may slightly vary due to crowd size or specific activities or events for that night.  But in general, you can expect the following:

7:00-8:00pm - Signups (Free, but spots are limited!)

8:00-9:00pm - Pre-show entertainment, vendors booths, announcements, tournament preparation, and then tournaments start as soon as it is dark enough outside to see the projector (normally between 8:45-9:00 pm)

9:00pm - Tournaments start outside on the BIG SCREEN!  Normally we will have to do single - elimination rounds to get through everyone.

10:00pm - Round 2

10:30pm - round 3

11:00pm - Final rounds

11:30pm - Winners announced!

12:00pm - Festival day is over at midnight

In addition to the games and special events, we will be showing classic videogame movies each night inside the store during the tournament, and if time allows, we'll replay them outside on the big screen at around 10:30pm.  As we found last year, however, some nights the crowds and the game tournaments will be so big that we just won't have time to run the movies outside, but we'll do the best we can!
